Win 7 64-Bit
My grandson has Win 7 64-Bit and we asked sometime ago if Firefox would work with this computer and were told "NO." Has a new(er) Firefox been released that will work with Win 7 64-Bit. Please advise. (Please, no 'nonsense' responses.) Thank you.

Whoever told you no was mistaken, Firefox works on Windows 7 64-bit
What version works with Win 7 64-Bit (is it beta)?
This is response I received a few months ago:
"the-edmeister 27066 posts Mozilla doesn't make any 64-bit versions of Firefox - there aren't enough 64-bit plugins available yet and a web browser is somewhat useless these days without a full compliment of plugins. Firefox 3.6.3 works fine on Windows7 and it won't damage a computer."
ALL versions of Firefox work with 64 bit Windows.
Mozilla do not have an official 64 bit version of Firefox for Windows, but the 32 bit version of Firefox works on 64 bit Windows.
Mozilla are working on a 64 bit version of Firefox as part of the development of Firefox 4. Even when the 64 bit version of Firefox is released it may be better to stick with the 32 bit version until the plugin makers make 64 bit versions of their plugins.
Thank you. Quarantine: But what is the version number I should tell my grandson to download/install for his Win 7 64-Bit computer?
We notice there are quite a few versions.

I recommend 3.6.7, the latest release.
I have been told that latest version is 3.6.8.
3.6.8 was released on 7-23-10
