I want my location bar suggestions not to come up automatically.
I use my location bar for my search engines using their keywords. When I use this, I often type contents from the web page I'm currently on into the location bar, then the location bar comes up with suggestions which overlays my web page contents, very annoying. An ESC hit makes it go away, but after one more character it's back again.
I would like the location bar to not show up automatically when I'm using a keyword for a search engine, or not to show up automatically at all (so you will have to use the down key to get the list of suggestions).
I couldn't find an answer for this. Probably this isn't a feature for Firefox at the moment. If it isn't, I would like to request a setting for this. The use of keywords for search engines is really really nice, and it would be too bad if the use of it would be deteriorated by such minor issues.

Open the Preferences dialog (in the Edit menu select Preferences), go to the Privacy panel, and near the bottom in the Location bar section, change the setting "When using the Location bar suggest" to "Nothing". This will totally disable the drop-down list, you will not be able to open it by using the down key either.

Sorry guys but I think you misunderstood my problem. I don't want to disable the whole location bar suggestions, I just don't want it to show up automatically.
