I build websites with Dreamweaver CS3. I am operating on Mac OS 10.4.11 using Firefox 3.6.13 - The problem began on the last software update. I like to use Firefox instead of Safari. Up to the point where I upgraded, I never had a problem but now, when I go to preview/debug in browser, Firefox loads but it goes no farther than my home page ... it will not load the Dreamweaver page preview. Safari works fine. So I think there may be a problem loading 3.6.13 past the startup page.

What version of Firefox where you using immediately before the 3.6.13 update?

A problem like you describe has existed with DW CS3 since Firefox 3.6 was released 11 months ago, in Jan 2010.

There is a fix for Dreamweaver, so it works in Firefox 3.6+ versions:
http://solutions.marketingmedley.com/

There is a $5.00 fee for that Dreamweaver fix. That website and the fix are not associated with Mozilla in any manner. Support for that fix is provided by that that website via email.

I have no idea what version came before 3.6 but I have been automatically updating as the updates become available. I purchased the "fix" but it did not work. They say on http://solutions.marketingmedley.com that: "We have had much success with Mac OS 10.5 or higher. We have discovered a few inconsistencies with 10.4.x and are unable to pinpoint why it does not work every time in 10.4.x. We are working on a complete solution for Mac OS 10.4 or higher." -- What they tell you when they send you the fix file is that it DOES NOT work with OS 10.4.xx, only OS 10.5 ... so the fix didn't work and they made 5 bucks. Buyer beware. Back to square one.

adfac,

Sorry you had a problem with that fix on 10.4, no one else posted about that inconsistency before now - I added that information to my Clippings file to warn other potential users the next time I recall that information.

Here's the fix. Dump Firefox 3.6.13 and Re-Install Firefox 3.5.16. Problem solved.

I have a related question. Since v 3.6.18 is out there now and I'm still using v 3.5.16 because the problem has never been resolved, Firefox continually pops up wanting me to upgrade to 3.5.16. I won't do that until the preview problem is fixed (if that ever happens). So I continually have to click "remind me later" because there is no option to "not show this again". Does anyone know how to disable the FF upgrade request dialog box? It is beginning to really bug me. Thanks for any help.
