Ñemoĩporã poravopyre

Skype works for me quite well for video and text.

Heck I even use a PS3 EYE camera (since I already had it) as it has been supported ever since the 2.6.29 kernal.

If you are only doing text chat then there are plenty like http://www.pidgin.im/

Sorry, that's not a Firefox support issue. Try the Ubuntu forums.

Maybe KMess, MSN / Live Messenger for Linux - Home: http://kmess.org/

On Windows some users may have encountered it maybe depending on how they have their allowed settings and whether they click on questionable links sent by text chat or not.

I use video Skype (as the next best thing to being in person) to see my sisters family who lives a good ways away.
