While I scroll page up or down (Using so called auto scroll mode) the bottom of the page has flashing black bar. As long as I keep auto scrolling it keeps disappearing and reappearing.

This is really annoying and spoils otherwise great browsing experience.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox 4.0:

  • Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: [ ] "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Thanks, disabling hardware acceleration solved the problem.

Will this make showing graphics slower?

more options

@Coq_Rouge yes it will so you could check if you have the latest drivers for your graphicscard if not install the latest version and retry. or else retry after firefox updates. without hardware acceleration you will not be slower than firefox 3.6 because this is a new feature of firefox 4.

Turns out that I already have the newest drivers.

I wonder if Firefox update will someday make hardware acceleration work without that problem? Or maybe I have to wait until I buy new computer. :P
