The decision to move the Home icon to the right end of the navigation toolbar is bad enough (no logic or reason). The fact that I cannot move the icon back to the left side where it should be is inexcusable.

The Home button works fine in its default location. I can move the icon using the "Customize" menu option, but once moved the link is dead (I place the button just left of the URL address box). I was able to move it once and it worked, but then Firefox moved the icon back to the right when I wasn't looking, and when I moved it back again, it no longer worked. I've had this happen several times now. Other buttons placed on the left side of the Nav menu from the Customize option all work just fine.

I like Firefox 4.0 but this annoyance is enough to move me back to Google Chrome. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
