When I downloaded Firefox 4 it told me it had compatibility issues with parts of Trend Micro. Trend Micro has been my security of choice for the last six years and I am not changing due to it having perform very well. There are apparently no patches for the two issues one being a tool bar and I cannot recall the other. I would like to know if these two issues are affecting my security.

Check with Trend Micro for the availability of an update for Firefox 4.0. If they are installing extensions in Firefox, it is up to them to keep those extensions compatible as Mozilla releases new versions of Firefox. You really should postpone upgrading to a new version of Firefox until you check with Trend Micro about this situation.

The same problem has occurred with Firefox 10! If new versions of Firefox were not released on a weekly basis Trend Micro may be able to keep you with Firefox.

Mozilla releases a new version of Firefox every 6 weeks (same as Google does with Chrome), not once a week. Firefox 10 has been around for over 5 weeks already (Firefox 11 is due in less than a week), if Trend Micro hasn't updated their stuff yet for Firefox 10, shame on them - maybe they shouldn't be creating Firefox add-ons of they can't update them in a timely manner.

Contact Trend Micro support or visit their forums to see if a fix for Firefox 10 is available or if you actually need the Firefox extension that is not compatible. Related thread:
