For some reason, ie. not in other Windows programs, the scroll bar takes off on a journey of its own when I simply click on an area of the scroll bar to page down. The same thing happens with the scroll wheel. A single action starts the page into scrolling that I can't stop unless I move a different direction or grab the scroll slider. What to do? this has been happening for a good while.

I've also seen this problem in the Mozilla suite on Windows, SeaMonkey Suite on Windows and SeaMonkey Suite on Linux. It's relatively rare, but frustrating when it happens. Firefox was supposed to have been rewritten to get rid of the bloat that was in Netscape/Mozilla, but it's evident that some bad code was copied from one of the earlier projects.
