When I type something into the URL bar it no longer searches in the search engine Google. Instead, if I type in, for example 'google' I get this: http://gbt.toolbarhome.com/search.aspx?srch=ku&q=google

I believe this is from a toolbar that mysteriously was added to my browser a couple weeks ago. I uninstalled and deleted a few files that required me to go into safe mode to do, but it still searches with this. Is there a way I can change the URL bar to search google again?

The toolbar may have changed a hidden preference.

  1. Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
  2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
  3. Locate the preference keyword.URL, right-click on it and choose Reset

Searching from the location bar should now hopefully bring up a Google search.
