I can't get firefox to remember my passwords and open the site automacially, It did it at first when I installed firefox but now it won't and I have remember passwords checked in the tool

the remember passwords option is not working for me now. I have re-entered passwords and unchecked and rechecked the remember password box in the tools section numerous times but it will not remember the passwords now. Does it have anything to do with me having firefox set to not keep a history log? Please help
