Version 3.6.17 Last night I noticed that a particular bookmark section I use quite a lot was missing so I tried restoring the bookmarks from a day old backup that Firefox had automatically made for me. I got the error "Unable to process the backup file." So I tried each of the 4 other backup files listed which produced the same error. The manual backup I have is a couple months old so I would prefer to restore a recent backup. Is there a way to make any of these json backup files work? Today I reinstalled FF with the same result. If I can not restore one of these files then is there a way to import only the part of the saved exported bookmarks I need instead of importing all of the old bookmark file? thanks Jerry

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Thanks, I had looked at that info but had a hard time following what I needed to do. Removing the places.sqlite file and renaming the places.sqlite.corrupt file seems to have taken care of the problem. I appreciate the help.
