Since updating to Firefox 5, I can't access websites through upromise.com. I turned off my firewall, but that didn't help. What can I do?

When I go to upromise.com, I should be able to link to other websites through their site, in order to get the reward points with my upromise mastercard. Since I updated to Firefox 5, it won't work. It worked fine before the update. I turned off the firewall of Verizon Internet Security Suite, but that didn't help. I was able to link through upromise.com if I used IE instead of Firefox. I turned off everything in Verizon Internet Security Suite, but I still couldn't access websites through upromise.com. How do I figure out what is blocking access to websites through upromise.com?

I apologize for butting in, yet I also had this issue - it turned out that my Firefox profile had become corrupted. I downloaded the "Profile Manager beta 1" program after doing a Google search for "Firefox profile manager", used the program to create a new profile, made that new profile my default profile, re-opened Firefox using the new profile, re-opened Profile Manager, then copied my old profile to the new profile (using the "copy" button) - after doing this, the Upromise website worked perfectly.

The only caveat, however, is that you will need to re-install any extensions that you previously had.

I hope this helps you out.

Thank you Matthew! I must have done correctly what you said, because it's working now. I wasn't sure if I was doing it right, but I guess I did!

Can you tell me where to find the link to download the Manager? I'm not too computer savvy, so I'm a bit lost! Thank you.

Go to this website:

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/utilities/profilemanager/1.0_beta1/

Then follow Matthew's instructions.

Hope that helps!
