i had realplayer installed before firefox. download button doesn't appear with videos even after enabling in realplayer settings. checked plugins after reading Firefox help. they are ok. but cannot find a plugins folder in firefox program files to paste nppl3260.dll as suggested.

The "correct" way for a program like Real Player to install a plugin for Firefox is through the Windows Registry. Mozilla hasn't allowed programs to install files to the \plugins\ folder since the Firefox 3.6 version was released, and for Firefox 4 that folder was eliminated as part of the installation of Firefox. But Mozilla doesn't prevent the user from installing plugin files there, after the user creates that folder them self - and it works the same as it always has, Firefox will "see" those plugin files and use them.

You need to create a \plugins\ folder in Firefox 4 and later versions.

Overall, you are probably better off finding a different program, plugin, or extension to do what you are using Real for as far as downloads. Real hasn't supported Firefox properly for a few years now.

Hi thanks for the reply. Can you suggest another software for downloads instead of Realplayer?

The latest version of Real Player updated on July 12, 2011 addresses this problem. You must check for Real Player updates AFTER you install Firefox 5.

Click on the upper left hand corner of the Real Player screen to check for updates. After you download the newest version of Real Player, the video downloading feature will work again!

Because my videos started and stopped to rebuffer I uninstalled real player in order to reload it. Now I cannot reload it. I have updated my firefox. The real player just stops working in the middle of installing. Maybe I addressed the problem of videos starting and stopping from the wrong angle. Can anyone help me with this problem and the one of not getting real player to download? Thanks.
