striping is seen across the screen

striping across the window. Only in the actual window, menu bars stay perfect. It reminds me of the test screens of old tv's with all basic colors, black and white. Scrolling removes the stripes on the part that is scrolled out of screen, the rest will stay striped. Also selecting text underneath the stripes, reveals the text. Strange problem to explain, i have a screenshot i can send you. It's a problem which occurs very often, but at random times and with every kind of webpage. Is it a plugin problem maybe? No otger program has this problem.

On the General mini-tab, uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available

You probably have to restart Firefox before this takes effect.
