On various threads it might only go to page 6 of a 7 page thread or it might go to page 12 of a 15 page thread..

I had to swap back to Ver 3.6 about a month ago because of this...... 3.6 had no such problem

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Before your reply, I cleared history/cookies. restarted FF and logged into the site where this problem most occurred. It was all normal.. I can get to the last pages..

Should I return to "Normal Mode" and wait for the issue to return? Then switch to Safe Mode to see if the trouble stops?

Safe mode is a diagnostic mode to check if an extension caused the problem and is not meant to be used permanently.

If clearing the cache and the cookies solved your problem then there is probably no need to use Safe mode anyway, but you can keep it as an option if the problem returns.
