My bookmarks open in some kind of quarter sized vertical screen (abt. 2" wide); how do I get it to full screen?

I click on bookmarks; the drop down menu opens; I click on a bookmark; it opens in less than a quarter screen occupying 2 vertical inches on the left side of my screen. I can scroll from the left to right via the task bar at the bottom of this screen but there are no visible icons for simply enlarging this screen. Very annoying!

hello peterbbell, your firefox version is very outdated. please go to getfirefox.com, download the current version & install it on top of your current setup.

afterwards go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information & reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks & passwords)

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Hey there Madperson! Thanks for the tip! I'll confess to being a ludite when it comes to all of this stuff... I turn my pc on and go the path of least resistance... which is why I'm using Google Chrome as Firefox simply got too complicated for me... something was either out of date, snared in a malware scenario or this quarter screen dilemma which is/was very frustrating, whatever. But I'm back for another attempt and I appreciate your assistance. I'll check the "yes" for "this was helpful to me" assuming that it's the right answer... I often check things in advance as I rarely find that page again! Best! PB

Madperson, well I just spent 25 minutes I didn't have following your instructions... all to no avail... my original problem still persists... I click on a a bookmark and it opens in a partial screen to the left of the existing screen with no options available [posted] for enlarging it and making it a primary screen. I suppose I'll get curious again in another 3 - 4 months and revisit the problem. Thanks!

Every bookmark that opens in the sidebar probably has "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" selected in Bookmark Properties.
see the image below

You can access "Properties" by right-clicking each of the bookmarks that are opening in the sidebar. That "box" usually gets check-marked as a result of using a "Bookmark this Page" link on a webpage, rather than using "Bookmark This Page" from within Firefox.
