I can't listen to videos on youtube and scroll through pages without the audio skipping each time I scroll. for instance, if I'm on facebook listening to a video that someone posted, I can't continue scrolling through facebook without constantly interrupting the song- even if I open a new tab. this does not happen with Google Chrome, however I don't really like Google Chrome. it's very frustrating. I keep everything up to date, so I don't know what the problem could be. it only happens on Mozilla browser.

thanks, that seemed to help a bit but then when I scrolled back to the video, it had froze but continued to play music. couldn't even stop or pause. so I enabled hardware acceleration again. however, after disabling and enabling, it seems better.

I also have this problem with Firefox 20.0 for Mac and Flash 11.6.602.180 on my Mid-2007 24" 2.8GHz iMac, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256MB VRAM, OS X 10.6.8.

If I scroll a web page playing a Flash video, the video stutters extremely badly for up to 20 or so seconds then stops, while audio continues playing till the end of the video. Then a short while later the Flash video will finally manage to render the final frame of the video, because this is such an amazingly hard task on a 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo :-D

FYI - if I boot into WinXP I do not encounter the same problem with FF and Flash for Windows.

Oh, and I should add if I fail to reload the page and continue scrolling and playing (if only the audio of) Flash video then Flash and FF can lock up so badly even the force quit keyboard command won't respond. Yet OS X continues to tell me the time on the hour and other audio will continue playing. So if only I could successfully force quit FF I could avoid a force restart by holding down the power button. But Flash and FF won't even let Force Quit work :-D Appalling. But that's Flash for you - some of the reliably worst software ever made in the history of computing.

I have the same problem. I use YouTube in Firefox 23.0.1 on a Windows XP laptop. Anytime I use the mouse's scroll wheel, any video I am playing on the YouTube site skips and mutes until I stop. It seems like it is any website (Wikipedia, Gmail, Weather.com, etc.). I haven't tried Google Chrome (don't like it) or Internet Explorer (the newer ones suck).

Thanks for the help, but now I am experiencing a new issue.

When I pan a map on Google Maps or http://maps.randmcnally.com (as I am a roadgeek that edits road articles on Wikipedia), the audio on YouTube videos skips the same way as above.

My first problem is taken care of, but I have this new one.

Thank you ahead of time for your help.

I've given up. I can't even use firefox as of a few days ago. as soon as the browser comes up, it becomes non responsive. I've uninstalled and re-installed it, downgraded to an older version which ends up automatically updating to the newest... etc.
