I recently setup Firefox on my Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2.2 and paired it with my desktop computer.

Strangely, it never really syncs all information. I never got it to sync userlogins/passwords and only sometimes syncing the history and bookmarks. Most of the time, it just doesn't pair anything at all. I reset my sync account countless times, removed it on both my desktop and smartphone and readded it with no change to its behavior. I also cleared and/or reinstalled it on my phone, but that didn't change anything either. It is anything but reliable.

I also tested Firefox Beta for Android, but it didn't differ from the stable application. I am also running a portable version of Firefox on a USB Stick and that version syncs just fine with my desktop.

Is this a common problem and a known bug or is it just me running into this issue?

We are experiencing a server overload with sync. Our techies are hard at work fixing this issue around the clock. Please continue trying to sync.

Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience.

Is there a status site or blog reporting on the current status, so that I know when I can get Firefox mobile to work properly? both the official blog and hacks don't really cover such information unfortunately.

On another node: I have taken a look at Aurora on android as well: Looking really great. Hiding that navigation bar automatically really helps a lot!
