under internet options, I have selected about:blank as my homepage, however when I access the internet google.ca/firefox comes up. How to change that?
THe above just about explains it. I want to set it at about:blank and do so under internet options, to be my homepage, but when I open firefox to access the internet, I get google.ca/firefox. I don't want that.

hello, please try to reset firefox and see if this can address the issue...
delete the user.js file overwriting your prefs
Also... this isn't very likely, but... check the shortcut you are using to launch Firefox to make sure the Google URL isn't saved there.
The System Details List shows that the browser.startup.homepage is set to http://www.google.ca/firefox
It also shows that you have a user.js file, so if you can't change the Home page permanently then check the content of the user.js file like posted above and delete this file if you haven't created it yourself.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
You may want to check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so involved preferences can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
