I had an account issue with my internet service and had to reinstall my AT&T Uverse modem under a new account number. This did not go smoothly, but I have internet service now. I was using Mozilla to talk to my modem. Yahoo.com was my homepage. Now, when I try to go to Yahoo.com (by any method or route), I get a tab labeled AT&T GUI with a completely white (blank) main screen below the tab with a narrow bar that says Mozilla is blocking a redirection to another site between the tab and the blank main screen. When I click on the link to tell Mozilla to allow the redirection, I get a screen from Yahoo that says it cannot find the web site I have asked for (yahoo.com?). This is the same on 3 different network/modem systems, but does not happen when I access other yahoo websites, such as mail or news and does not happen with yahoo.com if I use a different browser. Using options to put in yahoo.com as the homepage does not change this behavior, but installing other homepages (than yahoo.com) using options works fine.

Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Thank you.

See:

  • Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
