I have about 20-30 tabs opened in my computer (under Ubuntu), and a fresh installation of Windows XP in my laptop. Both have the last version of Firefox. I used the option for replacing data in other devices with the existing data in my computer. It seems to sync for several minutes (the button have an animation), first in my computer and then in my laptop when I open the browser. I get all my data synced except for opened tabs.

Also, do Sync take into account the groups of tabs? I usually organize my opened tabs in groups when I'm working in several topics. I'd like to have that exact organization in my two machines.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Are you looking for your tabs in the right place?

Firefox sync won't make your tabs appear open in the other browser it just gives you the option to retrieve open tabs that have been synced from another computer.

On the History menu there should be a menu item "Tabs from other computers", if you select it a new tab opens showing the sites from the other computers.

See here for more: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/756513

And yes, Tab Groups are accounted for.

Hello,

Sorry if you have already checked this but make sure that you have selected the option to sync tabs:

Select data that I want to sync

If that doesn't help then please have a look through the article below:

Firefox Sync troubleshooting and tips

As per that article the final option is often to Reset the sync data.

I hope that helps.

I already did all of those steps before posting. They didn't solve it.

Oops, seems like that was the problem. Thank you!

I think it should be specified in the support topics. I didn't even realize such option were there.

Great. I'm glad that's done it.

I agree - there does seem to be a gap in the documentation around this specific feature. I'll discuss this with other support people and see if we need a new support article to cover this off.

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for using Firefox :)
