I'm running Windows 7. All is up to date. Dell is 6 months old.

Yesterday Thunderbird would get mail. Today it won't. All I get is the spinning blue circle and a warning that Thunderbird is not responding.

I've shut down Thunderbird and restarted. No help.

I've restarted pc, no help.

Thanks

Routinely run MacAfee. Occasionally run Malwarebytes and Avira. All clear to date.

I had disabled the Extension when this first became apparent a few days ago. I was able to get new mail today. But part of the problem continued (see below). I've just turned off email scanning in McAfee, and restarting Thunderbird.

An interesting sideline: when the Thunderbird program was stalled trying to get mail, it would duplicate some messages in my inbox. Strange. Thanks for the above link.

Your best bet is to contact McAfee product support. At least one person had "some settings changed" is a chat session with them that fixed all his issues.
