When I create a new event by right-clicking on a day on the monthly calendar and then "Invite Attendees" I see in the new pop-up dialog that the organizer of the event has the illegal domain address of "@internal". The attendees receive their invitations but the .ics contains the line
ORGANIZER;PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION;CUTYPE=INDIVIDUAL;SENT-BY="mailto:
<redacted>":mailto:<redacted>@internal
Since <redacted>@internal is an illegal email address the attendee cannot respond to the invitation either in the affirmative or negative.
How can I change the default domain of the organizer to the email address of the user creating the event? I have searched through all the settings I can find no mention of @internal there or in the documentation on the web.
I have been testing on my Win 8.1 system and Thunderbird 115.16.2 (32-bit), which is the most advanced available. The people I work with experience the same behavior with Thunderbird 128.3.0 on Win 10 and Win 11.

I've been using Thunderbird v102 for quite a while until Supernova was stabilized. I finally upgraded and Thunderbird was updated to v128. I was able to configure it to what it looked like in v102. However, when I compose an email and try to drag and drop a file (e.g. a ".pdf" file) onto the compose pane of the new email window it doesn't work. I've tried a variety of things, including saving my old profile, creating a new profile, then trying to write a new message, and finally trying to drag and drop a file for an attachment. This no longer works. I can, however, click on the "Attach" icon at the top of the write window and within a few clicks, and some searching, and a few more clicks, can attach a file.
What happened? And is this fixable? Why does all new software make it more difficult to do simple tasks that have worked for years, thinking it makes life easier by making it more difficult? Sigh...

I have other staff members who use the same thunderbird email as myself and have recently started to use the task feature. The task feature is very useful for me but I want to be able to send the other task to other people or have them sync like the email do.
Is there any extension I can add or does is there a built in feature with thunderbird that can all me sync or send task to each other.

I set some filter to local copy different email to local folder an delete them from Gmail to reduce the amount of email in Gmail. Normallly while working I let Thunderbird in background downloading the email and then I read the email locally.
Today I noticed that the downloaded email that I havent previously opened on Gmail are blank, even the source is blank.
Is it possible to solve this, because I already deleted all the downloaded email from Gmail. It's another filter.

I have a solar company that I am dealing with, and recently some of the emails do not come through to TB I know that they are sending correctly because when I check on my providers web interface they are there. I have deleted all of the Filter just to make sure, and they are not in the Junk or SPAM folders. Some do come through but others do not. Any ideas? This just started in the past few days, before that they all came through

I recently reinstalled Thunderbird and lost some of my message filters. I recreated the filters that move a message to a folder in another email account.
The move filter does move the message but it remains in the original email account. When I filter the original email account for "All Mail" the message can be seen as unread.
From what I recall this was not an issue before.

I just upgraded from 115-something (sorry I don't remember) to 128.4.0esr.
Before I upgraded this morning, I could start typing a name or e-mail address, and it would fill the rest. This worked whether I was writing an original message or adding one to a reply.
After I upgraded this morning, it stopped doing that and I can in no way get it to do so. How do I fix this?
If the answer is I don't, how do I go back to 115? This makes using TB absolutely too difficult for me. E-mail is my primary means of communication.
I am running macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) on a MacBook Pro, mid-2012. (Don't tell me to upgrade my hardware unless you are volunteering to pay for it!)

I store my mail on my local server so that I can access it from a number of different computers on the same network. If I set the Local Directory to that network folder it is changed to /run/user/1000/doc/5f5f8977/mail.xxxxxx.com and the mail is imported to my local disk in that folder.
However, when I restart the computer I have to set up the network folder again each time.
I have never had this problem before. How do I set the Local Directory permanently to the network server address? Thanks Bob
Since the update loaded last night I have restarted computer at least 4 times. Every time it just shows up as you need to reboot your computer.

I *never* want my local calendar to not have the latest information in it about when/where the meeting is.
Is there any way to have all updates to existing invitations be processed automatically as they arrive?

Hallo Community, ich benutze Thunderbird 128.3.3esr (64-Bit) und habe seit einiger Zeit ein Problem. Wenn ich Mailadressen aus dem Impressum von verschiedenen Internet Seiten wie Kaufland.de oder Netto.de in das Mail Programm einfüge kann ich diese nicht versenden. Auch kommt während des Schreibens der Hinweis das die Mail nicht gespeichert werden kann und der Button "Senden" ist inaktiv. Siehe Bild. Auf den Hilfeseiten bei Thunderbird wird mir ein TLS Netzwerkverschlüsselungsprotokoll als möglicher Fehler angezeigt. Auf Nachfrage bei meinen Mail Anbieter 1&1 wurde mir gesagt das es so was bei denen nicht gibt. Woran liegt es das diese Mails nicht mehr verschickt werden können? I am writing to report an issue I've been encountering with Thunderbird. When I open the application, it functions normally. However, if I minimize it and then reopen it from the taskbar, a white border appears around the window.
