Hi. I have an email purporting to be from Microsoft telling me that I will have access problems with Thunderbird from September onwards. Something to do with authentification. Assuming it is genuine (is it?) I have no idea what to do. It gives 'instructions' which are incomprehensible to me. I dont even know why this link is to Mozilla rather than thunderbird. I don't want to loose Thunderbird's calendar or stored files let alone the ease of access I currently enjoy. I need someone kind and patient to tell this novice how to move forward in a pedantic, non-terminology way who is happy to assume I know nothing! Please help! Brian

I got an email from Microsoft saying my Live.com or Outlook.com email accounts won't be supported in Thunderbird UNLESS I change the settings to OAuth2 in incoming and outgoing server settings.

I even REMOVED the email account and re-added it making sure it was OAuth2.

But for my live.com & outlook.com email accounts I continually get prompts for passwords from Thunderbird. Sometimes I can't even click the RED X at the upper right to shut the prompt down. I just happens over and over until I give it what it wants.

I am tempted to shut down all Microsoft email accounts and switch to Gmail.

I have Thunderbird version 115.12.2 (64-bit) I used Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.3810 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1020.0

Any idea how to stop these prompts?

I like Thunderbird much more than any other email program I have ever used, and would like to keep it

I installed a new hard drive and reloaded my win11.Before I did this I followed the instructions to save my email. after all was done i tried to follow the instructions to restore my email. Am not sure what happened but it looks like I have lost all of my email. any suggestions or places to go for help Roger

my storage size shows 89% so how can i get a bigger storage or can i get som folders out and save on my pc ? i am not a computer specialist so please give me an advice in simple steps

The second line (under the sender) of my inbox items is sometimes highlighted blue (preferable) but not always. How do I set them all to blue? The all black entries are more difficult to read.

When I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I thought I copied my profile folder from one computer to the other and then edited the profile.ini folder to use my old profile. That apparently doesn't work anymore. So, I uninstalled Thunderbird and restarted my computer. Reinstalled Thunderbird thinking I would have a fresh install. No, my old profile and edited profile.ini file are still there. How do I get rid of the changes that I made and transfer Thunderbird the correct way? TIA

Every time I launch Thunderbird I get a request to enter my PW for my Outlook365.com account. Upon entering the correct PW (I verified the PW by loging into my Outlook365 account) I get the responce that the Login Failed.

This issue never ends...

What is happening here? Frankly, I think your app is faulty...although I can get around this nuisance but I'm just about ready to remove Thunderbird permenantely.

Thunderbird (Windows) shows option to sort mail by size, but it is greyed out so unable to sort this way. PFA image.

Can anyone explain how to make this work?

P.S. the purpose is to delete messages occupying the mailbox unnecessarily by going through them in the order of decreasing size. If there is another way to do this, that should also be fine.

Compact folders: caused a saved draft email to disappear. Closing and re-opening Thunderbird resolves this. Suggest the help document https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/compacting-folders-potential-complications be updated to advise this solution (before the user raises an issue). How does this message get to someone who can action this?

How do I reply to an email when i have selected it in the inbox and I can read the email in the preview window? As far as I can tell there is no reply button anywhere. I did double click on the message and suddenly about 30 tabs opened up with each tab having a reply button, which is very nice if I wanted to answer all 30 replies individually. Now I have to open every email to reply and close 20-60 tabs just to reply, which I won't put up with just because of the nuisance bur for sure because of arthritis.

Note: Someone recommended thunderbird to me as very useful but without a reply button in the inbox this is not really a usefull email program. This seems like a minimum common sense basic email function. If you are going to force people to double click on an email in order to reply, it would common sense to only open up that email and not all 30-60 other emails in the string as one will want to reply to the latest email and not to all other emails in the string. If people want to open up all the emails (I can't think that are very many people that want that), make that option a triple click. Right now I have to do an extra click for a reply (compared to any other email software I have ever used) and I have to close 20-60 tabs just to reply to the latest email message, this makes thunderbird a waste of time. I can't imagine I am the only one that considers these two issues basic common sense in email software. Maybe most people just delete thunderbird as I was planning on doing without commenting.

I am only able to go back 3 days for my deleted emails, and there are 2 emails from July 5, 6 or 7 I cannot find. How do I find deleted emails and retrieve them? Can someone else remove emails from my inbox?

1. I use thunderbird for three mail accounts with microsoft and need to update my authentication. Your article shows me what to do and I am keen to try. My point of contention is "Administrator approval". I have no Administrator. On my PC I am the administrator. Can you elaborate on what I have to do. I do not have a {tenant-ID}. 2.
