When I start Thunderbird 128.5.2esr (32-bit) on my Windows 10 Home PC Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045, it has become increasingly slower recently. I have been using it for many years now and up until this year it would typically start in ~30 seconds.

I am accessing three separate POP email accounts and each of them has a number of subfolders with important stored messages. I thought that perhaps I had just too many folders and messages, so I removed hundreds of the stored messages and some of the sub folders. I routinely compact all accounts.

Today, it took over 8 minutes for Thunderbird to open. Incidentally, once it opens initially it seems to perform normally thereafter.

Is there something that I can do to speed things up?

Thanks in advance, Rich Green

Using thunderbird to connect to the mail server outlook.office365.com with imap gives the message "user is authenticated but not connected" . I have 2 accounts on this server and one works fine and the other gives this message. This occurs on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Latest version of Thunderbird is being used. Any help would be appreciated.

I had Thunderbird and switched to Outlook when I purchased Office. I liked Thunderbird better so I switched back. I exported my Outlook calendar and imported it to Thunderbird. The calendar works, no problem.

The problem is that when I open Thunderbird and select the calendar for the first time Thunderbird hangs. If I check the message indicates that Thunderbird is busy. After a period of time everything works. The only time this occurs is when I start Thunderbird and select the calendar for the first time. Can you tell me why?

If it makes any difference when I imported the calendar I did not realize how Thunderbird worked and I imported it creating a new calendar with the name of the imported file. I had a Home calendar with nothing in it and my imported calendar. I decided to export the calendar that was created during the import. I then imported that file to the Home calendar and deleted the original imported calendar.

My wife decided to add our son to our You Tube TV. She is not the greatest with computer. I have been unable to access my Thunderbird emails since Saturday. When I sign in I am asked to enter my email address and I get a 404 error message. I'll attach the messages I have received. Have to talk on phone if that is OK.
