my emails often contain a series of capital letter "A"s and other hieroglyphics. The other problem is that I often get a message saying it may not be responding because a script is running on this page. The final difficulty is that it seems unable to end my emails, not saving them; when I look on my blackberry, they have been sent but it takes a good 10 mins. I am taking this laptop to a computer expert but if you can help unclutter my thunderbird emails, that would be much appreciated. I am having to use my blackberry which seems a bit ridiculous.

Thanks.

I would guess you have issues with your anti virus locking files to scan them just when Thunderbird tries to open them.

Is there anything here that helps? https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues
