Can't sign-in to sync data

Can't sign-in to sync. Am able to sign into my Mozilla account however when attempting to sign-in to sync my data, I always get an "Unexpected error" msg. From this, I 've tried changing my password a couple of times, but get the same error. I've verified my user name and e-mail address. Sync doesn't require the user name, only the email address. I've reset/refreshed Firefox even trying the Safe-mode option, but to no avail. In the past, I have simply started a new account, but of course, I'd lose info. There has to be an actual fix for this and not simply a work-around. Or if there's the known cause(s) that creates this issue, PLEASE tell me to as I'm aware of any preventative measures needed to be or/and could be applied.
