Mozilla signs me into ebay automatically putting in my user mane and passport. So far it is just this account. I have tried clearing history, etc. But this has not worked. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mozilla and that does not work.

It doesn't do this for other sites.

Let me know how to stop this.

Thank you, JJFM

Have you checked "Saved Logins" on the Security section of the Preferences page?

Are you closing all tabs with eBay before you close Firefox?

A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.

You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:

  • You can create a cookie" "Allow" exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

You can remove the Cookies from a website to make the website forget about you.

You can inspect cookies and passwords for the domain in the currently selected tab.

  • click the "Site Identity Button" (control center 'i' button) at the left end of the location/address bar
  • click the arrow to expand the security message
  • click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info"
  • click "Permissions" to inspect and modify permissions
  • click "Security" to inspect and modify cookies and passwords in a standalone window
  • click "View Cookies" in "Tools > Page Info > Security" to inspect the cookies from the domain in the currently selected tab

Thank you, but I cannot follow your instructions. Can you be more specific? Where is the site id button? I could not find it.

Here is a outline of the problem.

What is happening when I get to the ebay sign in page, my user name and password are being being automatically filled in. I cannot get the browser to discontinue or "forget" this information. My computer is shared.

I have tried clearing history, active logins, etc. It does not work.

The Site Identity Button in current 45 releases shows as the control center 'i' button at the left end of the location/address bar. In older Firefox versions this is the globe/padlock.
