Firefox and flash was slow but at least usable. How ever since Microsoft forced Microsoft MS16-154: Security update for Adobe Flash Player on us it is now unusable. Firefox freezes when ever you go to a page that has needs flash.

Is there a way to remove Microsoft Hotfix? I did a rollback to an earlier restore point and it worked fine, until Microsoft reinstalled the update again.

Running Firefox 50.1.0 32-bit and Fashplayer Version 24.0.0.186

Any suggestions?

Open the Windows Updater program. Select Installed Updates. Remove the problem update. Once you are done, go back to the main updater page. Select Check For Updates. Find that update and click it once. There should be the option to hide that update. To see any hidden updates, select Restore Hidden Updates from the mail updater menu.

I did make a little progress here as well. The best fix I've found so far was to go back to Flashplayer Version 23_0_0_207.

I did a remove using adobe's uninstaller for both Flash and Shockwave, then removed the Adobe folder from C:\Windows\SysWoW64\, then Installed Flashplayer Version 23_0_0_207.

An interesting note is that Version 23 was installed into C:\Windows\SysWoW64\Macromed\Flash.

Running much better, no "Freezes" or popup's to Continue or Restart Flash. I'll keep you informed.

Thanks for the suggestions, I did the file system check, and had already verified I had the latest video drivers.

That is the normal place for the program.

Ask questions at Microsoft support, and keep us posted.

I also did another test of removing and hiding Microsoft MS16-154: Security update for Adobe Flash Player. Then updating to Adobe Flash Player to version 24.

Even without the Microsoft Security update, the performance of flash player was still plagued with pauses and waiting.

I've reinstalled Microsoft MS16-154 Security update for Adobe Flash Player and am running with Flash player v23. This combination provides the best performance.
