I frequently watch Fox News Channel live on Firefox in Windows 10. The FNC player no longer works on Firefox 52 and 53, so I have been using MS Edge to watch FNC. I think the problem may have started with Firefox 52. I would prefer to use Firefox for all my browsing.

Hi   ! Your system details don't show if you're using any ad-blocking add-ons. If you do, would you disable them for this page and see if that makes a difference  ? Also : would you make sure that cookies are enabled for Fox News, as well as JavaScript  ?

Here is a link to FNC shows: http://www.foxnews.com/shows.html My NVIDIA graphics driver is dated 14 Nov 2016 I do not use any ad-blocking add-ons. Cookies are enabled. Starting with version 52 Firefox no longer supports Java.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox?cache=no Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

I have no problem viewing that site.

Starting with version 52 Firefox no longer supports Java.

I mentioned JavaScript, which is not the same as Java.

Dear Happy 112,

Apparently FredMcD is suggesting I should downgrade to an earlier version of Firefox. That is something that I do not want to do. I would switch to Edge as my default browser before I do that. You said you have no problem viewing FNC live. Would that be with FF53? If so perhaps you could help me to get my FF53 working with FNC. Could you tell me more about how to find this JavaScript that you referred to. How can I determine if it is enabled on my FF53?

I have no idea why this post will not wrap.

The post doesn't wrap because of the leading spaces. A leading space means that you get PRE tags and this forum doesn't wrap text in PRE tags (I have a custom style rule to fix this).

I will edit your above post and remove the spaces.

JavaScript should be enabled by default.   You can check and see if this is the case : Type in the address bar   about:config (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : javascript.enabled and make sure that it's value is set to   true

FredMcD is not suggesting that you should downgrade;   he merely explained what to do in case you should   want to   downgrade.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button# or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content. There is security software that can interfere with loading content, so check that as well.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button# or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Dear   loyall,
You already mentioned that you don't use any ad-blocking extensions and that you enabled cookies for that site. Now, let's assume that JavaScript is enabled.
Looking at your screenshot, it says : 'For video troubleshooting and help click here ' What happens when you do that   ?

Flash Player is Shockwave Flash. Most of us just call it Flash.

Flash Player Version: 25.0.0.148

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

javascript.enabled is set to true There are thirty-nine other javascript entries (I counted them) that are set to true and false and specific numbers.

You can check it yourself, but it basically provides a number of FAQ's. I spent some time there reading the FAQ's before I posted on this forum. Since my problem does not happen in Edge or Internet Explorer, but only in Firefox starting with version 52, I am certain it is a Firefox problem.
