The Local Directory path "C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\os0z918b.harry\Mail\pop3.maxinter.net" is not suitable for message storage. Please choose another directory. I don't believe I changed anything, but now Thunderbird seems to have corrupted where the messages from my e mail account are stored. Anny ideas on how to get Thunderbird to like where the message is stored?

something very odd about that message. Given the path you show is probably the default. It looks like a default one anyway. So some investigation to confirm it is default location for a profile for a start.

Press Ctrl+R type %appdata% into the run dialog and press enter. this will open windows explorer in your user accounts default application data folder.

What is the path that Explorer shows? I would expect C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming

Yes, you are correct.

Does that mean I should just change the destination from %appdata% to appdata and that will fix it?

I am still asking questions to learn about your install, not fix anything

Hold shift when you start Thunderbird (from before you click until you see Thunderbird). Do you still see the same message?
