Can I program the URL bar drop down menu, so that it instantly jumps to "Yahoo" if I type "y"?
Hi,
If I type for example "d" into the URL bar, it instantly auto-completes the URL to "dslr-forum", which I visit regularly of course. Another website I check just as often is Yahoo Mail. Unfortunately, the URL just won't auto-complete my "y" to "mail.yahoo.com..." etc.
Apparently, because the address starts with an "m". The "m"-auto-completion is however already taken by Gmail.
Is there any way to configure the URL bar, so that it will auto-complete "y" to the Yahoo Mail address?
Many thanks in advance!

Hmm, not exactly, but you could use a bookmark keyword. Here's how you set that up.
(1) Bookmark your email page, for example, by viewing the page and pressing Ctrl+d. In the little panel that drops from the toolbar, you can select the location to save the bookmark (menu, toolbar, specific folder, etc.). Make a mental note of that.
(2) To add a keyword to that bookmark, you need to open the Properties dialog for it. You can right-click the bookmark wherever you saved it, and choose Properties. In the dialog that comes up, one of the fields is Keyword. There you can enter y and click Save.
Now when you type y in the address bar you won't notice any visual difference in what is suggested, but if you immediately press Enter without typing any other characters, Firefox will load the bookmarked page (your Yahoo mailbox).
Worth a try?
