After installing Firefox 59 this error message pops up (in German so the error message in the title is translated by me) for one of my apps. Quickly followed by a second error message "Couldnt load XPCOM".

The operating system is Windows 7 64 bit and the browser is Firefox 59 as per update this morning. Normal webbrowsing works fine as far as i can tell.

I went through the whole process but the error persisted.

What I still have to tell you is that the problematic browser is supposed to run in a sandbox. (the new FF in other sandbox instances is running fine from the get-go btw) So I now realised that the sandbox in question had its own "program files/mozilla firefox" folder with a couple of (old?) files in it. I deleted them and now it works.

Case closed. Thank you for your help. At least I got to run the Windows Disk Cleanup, hehe. Do I have to mark this thread as "answered" or anything?

Hi, Nothing on that one last person back in November reinstalled Firefox for the issue so please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0 with a Full Version Installer
