Will firefox 40.0 install on Android 9.0

We have an offline site that we upload to android and it requires an older version of firefox to run on the device. We use airwatch for management and now we cannot get the apk to install on the device.

We originally got it to install once then it would error out immediately. Is their a verified compatibility issue?

Verion 40 of Firefox for Android has not been tested or designed to work with Android 9 - it is about 5 years old.

I cannot in good feaith recomend that anyone use such an old version of Firefox for Android. Have you tried using a more recent version? What happens when you try?
