Are there any quicker way to do this?
In previous versions I had to do this to go to a bookmarked site without ending up with more open tabs:
1) Click on the address bar 2) Click on the desired bookmark
After the latest update I have to: 1) Click on the square with the number of open tabs 2) Click on X to close the present tab 3) Swipe down the tab list 4) Click on the three dots 5) Click on 'Bookmarks' 6) Click on the desired bookmark
The release notes says "... dramatically redesigned to be faster, easy to use..."!?

Why don't you use the Add to top sites?
There are still 6 steps.
1) Click on the square with the number of open tabs 2) Click on + to open a new tab 3) Click on the desired top site icon 4) Click on the square with the number of open tabs again 5) Click on X to close the previous tab 6) Swipe down the tab list

The issue has been brought up in this forum numerous times, but there is no progress at all. By simply tapping the URL bar in the old FF version, there was easy and straight forward access to top sites, bookmarks and history.
The new FF for Android is completely lacking easy access to bookmarks and history, and makes it very cumbersome to re-use an existing tab. Top sites aren't a replacement for bookmarks.
I don't know whether the developers don't understand this, or don't want to understand, or both.
