looking for a second "star" column. couldn't find an addon to do it. I'll explain:
I want to have an option to have another "star" column' let's call it the "package" column. It should function like the star column but in a sort-of-automatic way: whenever I get a mail from EBAY, AMAZON, ALI EXPRESS etc. about a SHIPPED item, it will add a package icon next to the message header (and of course - like with the star symbol, you can add it by yourself for missed messages), so if you wanna check out your deliveries-to-be e-mails, you can click the package icon next to the star, attachment, from etc. columns and immediately see the messages marked as items that are on their way ;)

Thanks, but I know this options, yet it's not the same. I want to have quick sort options exactly like the star option, without the need to tag, filter, rule or other....
You can sort on the Tag column if it's enabled in the Thread Pane (right-click any column button such as Subject, Date). The view can be set to specific tags from the Quick Filter Bar (under View/Toolbars).

Then without those suggestions the answer to your question of whether this can be done, is no.
hmmm.... is is possible for someone that has no programming knowledge to try and program an addon for that...? I have minimal skills but I might try.
