IRS DENIES ACCESS TO THEIR REFUND STATUS SITE
Reviewed "Sheribee" earlier issue which apparently involved a VPN. I do not have a VPN but have tried several times in the past week to access IRS refund status site without success. I can get into irs.gov, but am unsuccessful in accessing the refund status site after entering required input data. The issue has occurred only this past week.
I'm unaware of IRS issues causing this problem.
Have not had this issue on any other sites; and I have successful retrieved data in prior years.
I am not saving any sign on protocols with the irs or any other sites.
Running Windows 10. Thanks for any help. BTW I did get refund information using the telephone, but I want to ensure there's not a hidden conflict of some sort with FireFox. Thanks for any help.

FredMcd I again went through the references you had provided and noted the following:
1) The issue [Access Denied to IRS' refund status tool] remained present even in Firefox Safe mode. 2) After going through the suggestions and exiting and opening Firefox the issue remained. 3) I again flushed DNS 4) Issue remained, so I refreshed Firefox.
I was successful in obtaining the IRS' Refund Status Data with Microsoft Edge twice and Firefox twice.
Thanks for your help.

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?
Accessed irs.gov. No issues. I then accessed Where's My Refund section, answering IRS queries for identification purposes. When hitting the enter key, I received the Access Denied message on the attached PNG file.
Tried again just now and have received similar Access Denied messages about three or four times.
Thanks for any guidance.
Used MS Edge (after clearing history and cache, etc) with the same Denied Access message. It appears it may be an IRS issue, but I cannot locate any such message.
There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

Thanks for the sites, FredMcd. I tried ipconfig/flushdns and it apparently worked for the EDGE browser as I was able to get the status. However Firefox is still unsuccessful, receiving the Access Denied message.
I'll peruse the other sites you mentioned for those issues which plague Firefox but other browsers are successful. Thanks again for your help. I'll advise tomorrow after I've reviewed the specific articles.
Today, 24 Feb, Tried suggestions detailed in Fred McD references with no success. At end of the trials I tried Edge again which had worked a day or two ago; and it now also receives an Access Denied message.
Bank has reported that the refund has arrived; so it's possible, I guess, that the IRS may deny access to refund status once such has been sent.
At any rate the denies access issue now appears moot, and I cannot say it's solved.
Thanks for your help.
I called for more help.
FredMcd - Now I cannot be sure I had closed and reopened Firefox and/or rebooted Windows as required after making some of the potential solutions referenced in your responses, so I'm going to go through the references you provided again. Thanks.

I found by changing the Proxy Server Setting to "No Proxy", all started working well. Options/General/Network Settings.
Thanks, Elton Tom. I noted my proxy server setting was not "No Proxy," and have changed it to No Proxy. I'll check the IRS site again.
