I try to be on top of my digital privacy, and try to enable all privacy related options available, but I just learned that for a number of month, Firefox mobile had been sending each app open to Facebook which they logged in their "Off-Facebook Activity". Attached is a section of that downloaded report.

Why is Firefox doing this, and how can I stop it? Based on the work put in to make the Facebook container, I'd imagine that Firefox is trying to protect user's data, but here it's looking like they're turning around and just sending them that data directly

Hi Peter

In the desktop version of Firefox, we have the Firefox Container add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/facebook-container/ which does this, but unfortunately it is not possible to do this in Firefox for Android at present. You can follow work on this at https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/10581

In the meantime, you can install Firefox for Android Beta or Nightly and use Facebook in that app to keep it seperate, or Firefox Focus for Android to do the same, all of which are available from the Google Play store.
