When trying to save PDF's, firefox use to save each file as ex/ document, document(1), document(2) etc... now when trying to auto save it is making me input a name manually and won't automatically add the (#) to each file. How can i fix this? Thanks in advance.

If you keep the basic setting of Firefox saving everything in your download folder, then Firefox should resolve name conflicts.

If you turn on "Always ask you where to save files", then Firefox leaves name conflicts to you to resolve:

Does that match your experience?

I know that isn't super-convenient, but that's the current situation. There's an idea pending to change that, which you can vote for if you like: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/automatic-renaming/idc-p/8680

Sorry, you probably were referring to a different thing.

The above setting is for normal downloads. However, the download button in the built-in PDF viewer changed to working like a "Save As" button. So that is always going to show the Save As dialog and force you to resolve any name conflicts.

I had an answer before, but the link doesn't open anymore. The fix allowed the PDF view when clicking save to duplicate saves.... document(1), document(2), document(3) and so on...theres got to be something im sure, just not sure where to find it.
