Trying to get to the "http://localhost:631" website from my Ubuntu 22.04, but always get "can not connect". What is going on? What do I need to do to fix this? I have tried to add this website to the exception list but it changes the http to https.

What OS? What Desktop? X11 or Wayland?

What do you get in different browser? It works for me. see screenshot What version of CUPS are you running?

Here we go again. My reply disappeared when I opened up your first attachment. My OS is as stated, Ubuntu 22.04. My desktop is an AMD 8-core, 64 bit system, 3.5 MHz speed. I don't know what X11 or Wayland is.

I tried to get to the http://localhost website using my Dell laptop with Windows11 and Edge browser. I got something like "Not available".

I have tried to download CUPS several times but it doesn't work.

This is what I get when I run those two terminal commands: larry@larry-MS-7693:~$ lpstat -p -d lpstat: Scheduler is not running. no system default destination larry@larry-MS-7693:~$ ps -fe | grep cups larry 13921 13603 0 16:58 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto cups --Regards, Larry

Yeah, look like it's not running. A quick search should show how to get it running on Ubuntu. Let me see...

Just curious, but why are you going to this site?

Thank you for the terminal command. I ran it and got "cups 2.4.10-1 from OpenPrinting installed". I came to this site because it seemed that FireFox Web Browser wasn't working. I have been on the ubuntuforums website and have gotten a little help, but problem is not solved yet. I went to the "Printers" and still get "Sorry! The system printing service doesn't seem to be available". I also went the "http://localhost:631" website and still get unable to connect. Thanks for your help. Think now this problem is an ubuntu OS problem. Will carry on tomorrow with ubuntuforums and wherever I can find the information I need.

Have a look. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1463463/how-to-stop-and-disable-cups-service-in-ubuntu-22-04

Also this... https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=how+to+keep+cups+running+unbuntu

The ps -fe | grep cup cmd you ran shows that the service is not running like you see from my results from the same cmd.

larry@larry-MS-7693:~$ ps -fe | grep cups larry 13921 13603 0 16:58 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto cups
