I can't play video when I go to ESPN.com and CNET.com
I used to be able to watch videos on espn.com and cnet.com. Now when i go to the websites I would click the play symbol then nothing just a black blank screen where the video is suppose to play.

I talked to a dude from CneTV and he had me try a few things, like disabling AdBlock but nothing work. I had to use IE to watch videos.
Hello I am having the same problem but I am using Windows 7. Everything was working fine with both these sites until about 2 weeks ago. Would love some help figuring this out.
i'm having the same problem.it works on IE but Firefox no go. can someone help me out?
Mac OS 10.6 Firefox 3.6.3, Adblock, Noscript. CNET allowed.
For NoScript, you must (temporarily) allow: On CNET, cnet.com and com.com for the videos to play. On ESPN, go.com and espncdn.com for the videos to play.
I have AdBlock Plus installed and see several com.com references, but I did not need to disable AdBlock to play the videos on either site. Maybe you have added something to AdBlock that could be blocking. Disable AdBlock, restart Firefox and see if that solves the problem. If the problem still exists, re-enable AdBlock, restart Firefox.
Otherwise, try Safe Mode to see if one of your add-ons might be causing the problem.
Save Mode You may need to use Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes before starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.

If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.
I have seen a lot of problems with Flash and Windows 7 posted here. I am using the beta version of Flash 10.1 and have encountered no problems with it, others have had problems. I must make it clear that I do NOT watch a large number of online videos.
I fixed this problem by removing my Adblock filter subscriptions and starting over. At first it seemed to be a problem with Firefox or the Firefox Flash plugin since disabling Adblock didn't always fix it. But I had unnecessary filter list subscriptions (can't have too many? wrong) and that was the culprit. I deleted all filters and added Easylist and EasyPrivacy back (they seem to cover 99.99% of what matters anyway). No problems since deleting the other filters and restarting Firefox.

I had the same problem with ESPN video and Brak's solution of removing Adblock filter subscriptions and starting over worked. I deleted EasyPrivacy and then re-added it and Easylist and then the ESPN Videos played fine.
i had this problem too, but i fixed it by doing the following: change the global flash settings to allow storage of 1mb :

previously, i was messing around with the privacy settings to deny all sites storage,which caused the problem with espn. when i tried to change the settings locally (doing a right-click and selecting "settings" or "global settings" that didnt do anything. you need to specifically goto that link above to have the settings take effect

Your post is 1 year old and fixed a problem I (and many others, it seems) have had for 2 weeks!
Cheers - just disabling Adblock (and restarting Firefox, yep) has allowed me to watch CNet videos again.
I haven't been able to set up Adblock so it wouldn't prevent those CNet videos from playing, trying out the different suggestion here - but that's probably me ;-)
