Why has Mozzilla Firefox stopped supporting Java in ver 3.6.8? I need to know if you are going to support it in the near future.

Not having Java support within Mozilla makes it difficult to search many websites. As such I am being driven away from Mozilla to other search engines.

Up until now I have been a strong support of what your organization has done but if this issue is not fixed I will have to seek other alternatives.

Please help.

The only difference regarding Java in Firefox 3.6+ versions, is that a Next Generation Plugin is needed - which you have installed.

I have yet to find a Java next generation plugin for Firefox 3.6+. Can you tell me were to find the next generation plugin?

The next generation Java plugin is present in all versions of Java since 1.6.0_14 you have 1.6.0_21 and can be verified by going to tools > addons > plugins and locating the Java plugin.

Is there a specific page that you are having trouble with Java? Would you provide the address of the problem page?

Your above posted Troubleshooting Information list shows the "Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_21 for Mozilla browsers" , so you have the latest version of the Java plugin.

You can test if the Java plugin is working:

In Firefox 3.6 the Java plugin is treated just like all other plugins and no longer has a enable check box in "Tools > Options > Content".

You can enable or disable all plugins including Java via Tools > Add-ons > Plugins
