Following a h/d crash, where is my bookmarks data on the backup disk to restore, please?

I have restored from a full system Paragon backup file following a hard disk failure and cannot see where my Firefox bookmarks data would have been stored. Can you point me in the right direction and tell me how to restore these. (Obviously, I am not in a position to follow the usual instructions about creating a backup file to export / import bookmarks data!)

The bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. For details on the location of the profile folder see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

You can copy that file to your current profile folder. An alternative is, inside the old profile folder, open up the bookmarkbackups folder. Inside that folder you will find a number of files that have the .JSON file extension. They are backup copies of the bookmarks and you can import one of them into your current version of Firefox using the process to restore bookmarks as shown in the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article, using the "choose file" option.

You posted using an old and no longer supported Firefox 3.0.19 version, probably caused by restoring that backup.
You should update to the latest Firefox 3.5.x or 3.6.x version as soon as possible.

Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.

  1. Shockwave Flash 10.0 r22
  2. Java Plug-in 1.6.0_13 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)

Update the Java plugin to the latest version.
