When I go to Firefox Options I find the Advanced Icon is disabled
I had installed AVG free software for about a month. Recently it blocked my access to Firefox: It created its own toolbar and i could not open a bookmark in a new tab. So, I uninstalled it. also I was using Pramukh software for Indic languages and as a standoff one; my attempts to use it as Firefox add on was not successful. But now I find that it has been installed as an add on and a new icon script has been added to the Firefox Menu Bar. I don't know what caused this problem. But I am unable to click the advanced Icon.

just now my browser added an update and shows Firefox 8 and says Firefox is up to date. And why should I get Firefox.com ? Is it a different software? What are the (free ?) licensing implications ?

yet another funny thing has happened. Now I don't see the "script" button in the toolbar Possibly Pramukh has deleted it when I mentioned the problem with the disabling of the Advanced button under Options. However, Pramukh is working quite nicely as a standoff software and I am typing this using it. So, most possibly this has to do with the uninstalling of the AVG freeware. How to solve the problem?
