Hello, I'm having a problem with downloading software from websites. If I try to download something I get a message telling me that it's a binary file and it only lets me save the file

I was trying to download antivirus software from an internet based company called Panda Security when I got the following message:

You have chosen to open PANDAIS12.exe which is a: Binary File (73.8MB) from: http://acs.pandasoftware.com Would you like to save this file?

The software didn't download and now all downloads are coming up as binary files, even itunes!

Im using a mobile internet dongle rather than a broadband connection if that makes a difference.

Can somebody help me please?

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
