BBC iPlayer not playing Live TV in Firefox
I can receive BBC iPlayer catch-up and Live TV on my Windows 7 desktop PC without a problem using Firefox 20.0. My Laptop and Notebook also run in Widows 7 and appear to be set up much the same as my PC. However, I cannot get BBC Live TV using Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer 10. I get the message "The content doesn't seem to be working". My download speed is not the problem. What else is going wrong on my Laptop and Notebook?

Well I've tried just about everything now and I still cannot stream live BBC on my Windows 7 Notebook or my wife’s Laptop. The only difference I can see between the computers is that the Desktop PC has a faster processor and more RAM but why should that matter? All settings appear to be the same and they all have the same software.
Can any body help me please?
hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once?

Just tried launching Firefox in safe mode but it makes no difference, live TV does not play on my Notebook.

Thanks for the advice but I already have the latest Flash Player for Firefox (11.7.700.169) on all my computers. All the Firefox and Internet Settings are identical. The only difference I can see is that the Desktop PC has a faster processor and more RAM than the Notebook and Laptop but why should that matter? With Ethernet connections to my router, all 3 computers have good enough download speeds to play BBC Catch-up TV on the BBC iPlayer site.
What else can be making the difference?
Many days later and I still cannot find the reason why streaming live BBC on iPlayer does not work on my laptop or my notebook. My desktop PC is too far away from my sitting room TV for plugging in which is why I would like to use my notebook.
I think I am about to conclude that the speed of the CPU is preventing the laptop and notebook from streaming BBC unless someone else has any ideas.
However, I have just checked the Channel 4 website and my Notebook streams live TV without a problem. So the processor speed cannot be the problem with live BBC streaming. Any other ideas folks?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
Thank you for the suggestions but it makes no difference. BBC live TV does not stream on my Notebook. Channel 4 does stream well but I prefer to watch BBC programmes. What next I wonder?
