The last month or so, the focus has been 'jumping' from any new window I opens, to the one I opened it from. So, if I have one firefox window open, and open another, then, while I am (for instance) typing the address in the url field of the new window, the focus jumps back to the other window. Also, if I have minimized the first window, it will maximize if I kill the new window.

This is incredibly annoying. How do I make that stop?

There's a good chance this is related to a bug that kicks in when you do not have Flash running in any tab and you open a new window to a page that does use Flash. The details are in this recent thread: Opening New Windows and Shockwave Flash.

I don't think that's part of the Flash pattern. I can't think of any native feature that would cause that.

Having flash running in a window does seem to help with this problem. That's great, thank you!

Not sure what is causing the other problem, with the automatic maximizing, but that is less of a problem than the other was!
