Question about Java plug in problem
Dear Firefox:
My system is Windows XP, Home Edition. I've been using Firefox browser about 4 years now and this is the first time I see the following warning on the plug in.
When I checked plug-ins via Tools tab, it says "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.450.18 10.45.2.18 is vulnerable. Use with caution". I don't see any way of correcting this 'vulnerability'. Would you please guide me what this means and what I need to do??
Also, as I was checking all the plug-ins status and for Updates through Firefox page, the banner came up at the top of the page and said "Firefox prevented Java Deployment Toolkit from loading since it's unstable in Firefox".
This makes me very concerned about browsing. Please help me understand what all this means and guide me with the remedies.
[Q 1] Is something wrong with this Java Toolkit software installed on my PC?
[Q 2] As for other plug-ins listed on the page as "unknown" --- "Research",
what am I supposed to do?? I see several items listed like that.
Most sincerely, Brauzaa

First see if your Java is the last version: http://www.java.com/inc/BrowserRedirect1.jsp
I think after the uptade some notifications will disappear, usually it happens because the java isnt the last version
the other plugins search for developer website for more information
In this page, the FIrefox checks if there are updates for some of your plugins: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
The Java Deployment Toolkit is used mainly by Java developers who "deploy" Java presentations, few "normal" users ever need that plugin.
See this Blocklist report for that plugin
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p428
That plugin has been on the blocklist for a long time. Oracle hasn't done anything to address the insecurities provided by that plugin, so it remains blocked by Mozilla. On the bright side, at least it is a "soft block" do each user can enable it temporarily as they need it for whatever they are doing, but other that doing Java development or using some business applications few users even need that plugin.
