They're there for a millisecond after I exit fullscreen, then they disappear. Awesome bar suggestions still drop down from the title bar, but there's no way to get the bars back without restarting firefox.

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you! That's been bugging me for weeks!

It seems it was this extension I was using because since a few versions ago, firefox forces tabs on top which I don't like, and moving them back to the bottom leaves the title bar empty, I'll find a way around that though.
