Can't load part of website that I have been using for years
I recently got a new DLink router for my fiber internet connection.
Up and running, and can access all sites. However there is one site that I can't access all pages. The site is an auction platform for domain names, and I have been using it on Firefox for years.
The site is https://www.drop.com.au/
I can log on; I can see all my account details and list of domains etc. But when I go to "auction lobby" and click on that, I get taken to a page that has a tab for "Expired Domain Auction". It's when I click on this that I am having problems.
The site tries to load the auction page, but the "loading wheel" just keeps spinning, and it never connects. Frustrating!
I can connect to site via IE; so it's not the website. I'm running Windows 8.1
You don't have to log in to go to auction lobby, so anyone can try and see what I'm talking about.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be most grateful.
Regards, Ned

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
- Clear the Cache and
- Remove Cookies
Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.
Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.
- Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
- Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
Thanks FredMcD. Appreciate your input.
Had already tried most of those things (looked up troubleshooting before I came here).
Did all the stuff again as per your suggestion. No luck.
The really weird thing is that I have another older laptop which runs Windows 7 Professional - also with Firefox for years. It is using same router, and can connect to the auction platform with no hesitation.
I'm not a technical person, so could this be something to do with my Windows 8.1 settings on current computer? (Remembering that I have successfully been able to access site for over a year until last few days).
Having said that, I can connect to auction platform on this computer if I use IE.
Should I perhaps uninstall then re-install Firefox?

- 1 Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systemsv38.0.5 {web link}
- 2 Uninstall Firefox from your computer {web link}
DO NOT remove your profiles. - 3 After, reboot the computer. Then run the full installer.

Thanks for info. Did all this. Still no joy.
So by process of elimination, I guess it must be something to do with extraneous settings and not Firefox?
Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).

Thanks cor-el. Tried this without success.
It's probably something really simple in the settings somewhere.
But for now, I'm going to have to access that site on my other laptop.
Just a follow up on this issue. Looks like I may have got to the bottom of it.
I followed up with the provider of the auction platform - and as it turns out, they have had other complaints.
This is the response I got from them this morning:
"Hey Ned,
I was able to replicate the issue in Firefox.
Had to update it to the very latest version before it broke - works fine on previous versions, so something they've introduced in the latest version does not like us.
I'm having Aaron research the changes they made."
Any thoughts please?
